THE ONLY FRIEND I TRUST COMES OUT OF A BOTTLE

I take the lid off. Pour it into a glass. And relax.

The only friend I trust comes out of a bottle.

After a few I lie back on the bed in my room. I only have one room.
And I kick my shoes off and stare at the ceiling.
Darlings I love you. My eyes chase each other round the room.

The only friend I trust comes out of a bottle.

I don't want to know about waking up. I've closed the door because I enjoy drinking alone.

And I stare up at the ceiling.

The only friend I trust comes out of a bottle.

Then I roll over and look at the wall; I know I have no future but what I have is now.
Big deal.
Better to stand on nothing than to have nothing at all.

The only friend I trust comes out of a bottle.

Gone blind. There is no end. Don't knock on the door because I won't answer. Have only one friend and they are with me now.
