Burnley tunnel springs a leak

The Melbourne Age reports: CityLink's Burnley Tunnel has been closed indefinitely after a water leak appeared halfway along the right-hand side of the tunnel this morning.

"A water leak occurred in the Burnley Tunnel over a localised area in the vicinity of the Swan Street shaft at approximately 8.30 this morning," Geoff Phillips, the company secretary of the link's owner Transurban, said.

"It has been decided to close the tunnel to allow the cause of the leakage to be investigated."

Speculation at xenoxnews headquarters is that the cause is water from the Yarra coming in through a crack in the tunnel.

I suggest we ask Jeff Kennett to plug the leak... with his fat ugly HEAD! Better still, put him in there, seal both ends, and listen to him squeal like the redundant old bastard that he is! A fitting monument to his defunct empire of greed and deceit!

Maybe we should use the tunnel to extend the Melbourne Aquarium?
