Australian authorities will ban the 'Mexican wave' during cricket matches at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and tougher alcohol restrictions placed on spectators at designated trouble areas.
Under the new plan, any person caught starting a 'Mexican wave' would be evicted from the ground.
No booze?! No Mexican Wave?!
Well, if this ain't totalitarianism, I don't know what is! There is no greater demonstration of what defines Australia than getting totally shit-faced at a sporting event and joining in - if not actually prompting - that true-blue, fair dinkum Aussie social phenomenon: the Mexican Wave!
