A recurring nightmare.
The nightmare that one day the "losers" and
"bludgers" will go on strike and either refuse or
become unable to maintain, protect and increase
the "capital" and estates of the "winning" elites.
The most jealously guarded of all forms of wealth
and privilege is the inherited kind. A sense of
royal or imperial entitlement afflicts the
pampered blue-bloods. Those who work or beg for a
living are all considered to be "bludgers" or
potentialy dangerous, so they must be thrashed and
kept on the hop.
Most politicians would ask:
"And what's wrong with that?"
