Ricky, as I recall, when the Taliban (bad-arse Islamics) ran the Government, they had nearly stopped the opium trade in their Godforsaken country. It was only with the bold intervention of the NWO Coalition troops that the honest opium farmers could allow market forces to run things once again.
I'm sure John Howard could explain how this works, and why it is desirable and good. I think it really has a lot to do with the property markets. I will find more info.

Maybe non-core John has a lot of taxpayer money stashed away under the bed in a "Poppies for Pushers" fund. He seems to have stashed away plenty in the "re-elect John" fund. He better spend it quick - inflation is becoming a voracious monster that has escaped.

That is not true at all. The Taliban permitted the same muslims to run the opium trade. The problem is that they attempted to extort very large "tariffs" from the Opium farmers, to support their regieme. The war between the Opium Farmers and the Taliban was all about greed and extortion - i.e. they simply refused to pay their opium tax to the Taliban.

Taliban or Opium Farmer - they are all one and the same - muslims growing and pushing drugs for big money. The only difference is that the Opium farmers had the land, the crops and the distribution chanels; and the Taliban had substantial military support, and wanted to profit from those same Opium farms.
