Spooky! A third of the American public believes U.S. forces found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and 22 per cent think Iraq actually used chemical or biological weapons.
The fact is, no such weapons have been found, nor were used since the Iran/Iraq War.
Before the recent invasion of Iraq by U.S. forces and their suck-hole minions, half of those polled in the U.S. survey said Iraqis were among the 19 hijackers on Sept. 11, 2001.
The fact is, almost all the suicidal hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.
The fact is, none were Iraqis.
But facts have no bearing in the current U.S. putsch for global domination: economic, social, political, and most especially: military.
Pollsters and analysts ascribe the bewildering gap between fact and belief to Joe Public's short attention span on foreign news, fragmentary or conflicting media reports lacking depth or skepticism, and the Bush administration's own relentless onslaught of lies about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein.
Ignorance? Stupidity? Gullibility? What the fuck do you call this state of American befuddlement in the face of world opinion that made clear its criticism of the Bush administration's wild, self-serving claims?
Call it "cognitive dissonance"!
Yes, that's apparently what's behind George Dub's powerful political pre-eminence, for the illegal American invasion of Iraq, and for the eruption of the current American obsession with its own perceived moral superiority over the rest of the world, against all odds, all common sense, and historic precedent.
