THERE IS NO PROOF I TELL YOU.

We scientists have no idea what dark matter is. Just because this 'known unknown' accounts for most of the universe, this does not in anyway hinder our academic right to proclaim what is and what isn't.

In fact even if we didn't know anything at all about the universe and what it is made up of, our papers allow us to dismiss anything that we don't understand or know about.

It is not really about what is known and unknown. The fact of the matter is that if we can't experiment on something, because we don't know what it is, we are within our professorial rights to deny that it exists.

It is very simple: Until it is tested, understood and documented it simply doesn't exist!

You sound hardly a scientist; in fact you seem more like a UFOnik in disguise. Your plain misunderstanding of the scientific method is a dead give away.
Here is some advice for you. Why don't you let the grown ups do the thinking and you can continue your pot smoking and blabbering in the comfort of your own home. OK?

    Yours rationally,

Was listening to the radio today and a professor said, "Once we find out what dark matter is then we will have a better understanding of the universe".

Was he essentially saying that we are clueless apes given that this dark matter makes up the bulk of the universe?

The words were "better understanding", indicating that we will know more once we find out about dark matter.

We might not all be clueless apes but obviously some of us are.

Forget the mystery of the 'dark' matter, what about the 'white' matter that I want to splork out me dick?

It is a mystery to me why. And also a mystery to her on my computer screen.

Oh no. Another mess to clean :(

    Yours splorkingly,

It would appear that our scientist friends have really little clue at all about our world and the universe. First with their poetic like naming of this quirky thing that makes up 95% of their universe that they have no fucking clue about (dark matter!) And now we have an announcement of particles that travel faster than the speed of light which potentially turns much of the 5% remaining theories about the universe upside down. I'm going to continue to ignore the trumped up ranting, denials and scepticism of our so called rational authorities and stick to my fundamental precepts
    1. Our primate brains have much developing to do
    2. Keep an open mind because not very much is truly understood about our condition.
    3. Never go to sea on a fucking bogey

I submit that the Big Bang was God being blown to bits. Therefore one may very well ask Where is God? The answer, of course, is All Over the Place. Oh my goodness, there's some stuck to my heel!

Many scientists are ethically culpable. Find a better bomb, a more effective toxin? Hide it. Destroy or obfuscate the science!

Why let 'morals' stop the progress of science? Ridiculous!

Ours is a quest for knowledge. No less. And we won't stop until we have found the fuel that lights our endless fire, the equation of life itsel, and the drug that blows your mind.

So, throw off the blinkers and join us.

Someone great said God gave us our body to sample the world... Us scientists are the enablers for you to do it!

Virus that could kill 50% of people has been made. Scientists are arguing whether to publish the recipe. http://rt.com/news/bird-flu-killer-strain-119/

Wipe out the species in the name of advancement of knowledge? All very rational what?
