They are the last prisoners of 1229 who have been "processed" on Nauru. Most were shipped there by Australian navy vessels, after being transferred from the Tampa and other boats in 2001.

These poeple have committed no crimes. Yet, for the third year straight, they remain locked up in concentration camps, hidden from the outside world. No lawyers, media, or independent scrutiny allowed. Most are terrified that sick old asshole Howard will force them back to the countries they fled: Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan!
