The wisest move that George W Bush (and to a much lesser extent our very own PM) could have made in relation to Sep 11, Al Quaida, Saddam Hussein , would have been to make 'intelligence' the main weapon against 'terror'.

Rather than inciting hundreds of pods of hatred, dedicated to revenging massacres in Afghanistan, revenging the coming massacres and deaths in Iraq and elsewhere, the use of covert intelligence, in a softly softly, stealth manner, would no doubt have been a lot more effective manner of destroying these groups.

The billions of dollars invested in bombing the fuck out of Afghani factions and civilians, could well have been spent on a super network of intelligence, agents, and other covert operations, to actually find Osama Bin Laden and quietly slit his throat.

The wham bang kill method only provokes more vendettas against the west, deep long generational hatreds that will continue to come back and haunt the west for eons.
