Overcoming a Corroding, Long COVID Infected Brain

Chance of getting Long COVID?

10% - 20% with every infection.

legens lepers and leprechauns 16 20140424 1325164943

Vaccinated or not, COVID re-infections can occur every 6 months in a non lock down situation.

With lock downs being a thing of the past  the chances of you getting Long COVID in your life time is close to 100%. This would also suggest that you will experience cognitive decline sooner rather than later.

The great dumbing down is here.

As if we needed humans to be any more stupid! Ricardovitz and Denis here are good examples of where we are headed as a collective.

The intelligent human will no longer be able to rely on their brain. One will have to let go of the typical idea of cognitive consciousness. A holistic sense of being (think shiny golden Buddha) may be a better option for interacting with the world rather than relying on a corroding, Long COVID infected, brain.

@Dr Knowitall So each of the studies (going back all of the way to 2020) that indicate depleted CD4 and CD8 cells in patients after acute SARS-COV2 infection and in long COVID patients are totally fabricated documents by fear mongering scientists?

Or maybe when you say no evidence you mean you haven't been provided that info in the Know-It-All institute? Or was that the Xenox Institute?

@Dr Robert Dr Bob... I am disputing the fact that COVID directly kills CD4 T cells like HIV, not the generalised T cell lymphopenia that can by seen in severe COVID. As I said above, this does happen but the T cells come back unlike in untreated HIV infection.
    COVID is not AIDS.

Other than HIV snd SARS-COV2 is there any other virus that can enter T cells? (in vitro or otherwise)

HTLV-1 is a virus that specifically infects T cells. And I'm sure there a lot of other viruses that infect all sorts of cells that can also infect T cells

Anyway COVID is bad. Letting it run rampant is bad. Is it going to kill us all? Well just add it to the list of things already killing us all... Climate Change, Israel, Putin and Trump

    [quote=Dr Knowitall]COVID is not AIDS.

    HIV is not AIDS either.

But both SARS2 and HIV can cause havoc with the immune system and in a similar manner. Based on the number of hospitalisations and deaths one could also argue that SARS2 is worse than HIV.

Let me ask another question. Would you agree that there are very high similarities in the following scenarios/trajectories:?

    HIV > AIDS > Death

    SARS-COV2 > Long COVID > Death

Noting that even a mild Covid infection can lead to Long Covid just as mild HIV can lead to AIDS. A severe infection is not needed in both cases.

The similarities do not end there for example the Covid virus can hide in the body just as HIV does resulting in delayed immune dysfunction well after initial infection and asymptomology.

The preponderance of similarities between the two viruses would suggest that stating that Long Covid is AIDS like is far from a stretch nor fear mongering but in fact a reasonable way of conveying to the public the nature, potential severity and danger of the Covid19 pandemic. Not only reasonable but important.

Given that more people have died from Covid in the past three years than the number of people who died collectively in all wars of the past century and some including WW1 and WW2 it is encumbent on scientists to keep citizens informed of the nature of this ongoing pandemic.

I rest my case your honour.

Dr Bob. Your case is weak and who knows what the hell you are arguing for. Is it that COVID is the same as HIV? Or that it is going to kill us all? Let me dismantle your flimsy argument point by point and thereafter I will only respond in an abusive and demeaning fashion to your comments.

    1. 'But both SARS2 and HIV can cause havoc with the immune system and in a similar manner. Based on the number of hospitalisations and deaths one could also argue that SARS2 is worse than HIV.'
There absolutely no evidence that SARS2 virus causes the same immune system havoc as HIV infection. Occasionally there is a transient CD4 T cell loss in COVID but nothing like the PERMANENT T cell loss in untreated HIV. It's an apples with burnt steak difference. Of course, the numbers of hospitalisations with COVID is higher BECAUSE WAY MORE PEOPLE have been infected. Also, those people being hospitalised in nearly all cases is not due to immune effects but because of the very real damaging effects of COVID on respiratory and cardiovascular system.

    2. 'Let me ask another question. Would you agree that there are very high similarities in the following scenarios/trajectories?:
HIV > AIDS > Death, SARS-COV2 > Long COVID > Death. Noting that even a mild Covid infection can lead to Long Covid just as mild HIV can lead to AIDS. A severe infection is not needed in both cases.'
What is a mild HIV infection? There is none! You get it and it kills your T cells and you in the end. For some people it might take years, or in very rare cases there are those who control the virus, but in the end your CD4 T cells are gone. That is if you are not being treated. Luckily, and due to the genius of scientists like myself, there have been treatments developed which can control the HIV infection and stop T cell loss. So again, COVID infection is not like HIV infection.

    3. ‘The similarities do not end there for example the Covid virus can hide in the body just as HIV does resulting in delayed immune dysfunction well after initial infection and asymptomology.’
There are many viruses that hide in the body. Herpes, Cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus for example. So by your statement COVID must be like them as well; ie a benign infection that has minimal effect on your health for the vast mmajority of people.

    4. ‘The preponderance of similarities between the two viruses would suggest that stating that Long Covid is AIDS like is far from a stretch nor fear mongering but in fact a reasonable way of conveying to the public the nature, potential severity and danger of the Covid19 pandemic. Not only reasonable but important.’
As I have just shown, there is in fact very little similarities between these viruses, so saying COVID is like AIDS is factually wrong. But sure, if you want to scare the population why not tell them that. The public loves being feed bullshit and I am certain it won’t result in any conspiracy theory mongering.

    5. ‘Given that more people have died from Covid in the past three years than the number of people who died collectively in all wars of the past century and some including WW1 and WW2 it is encumbent on scientists to keep citizens informed of the nature of this ongoing pandemic.’
On this we agree. I am not saying that COVID is not dangerous, that Long COVID is not bad, or anything like that. I am saying comparing it to AIDS/HIV infection is nonsense. There is growing evidence that COVID infection(s) do have deleterious effects on your respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and likely immune system. So we should be avoiding getting infected, and concentrating research on treatments to tackle this viral scourge.

But it is not AIDS Part 2.

And with that the Judge stands up and gives Dr Bob the bums rush out of the courtroom.

@Bifurcated in Buninyong Clinical studies are showing successful results when long covid patients are fed a diet of snails. The snails need to be eaten exclusively and au natural for a minimum of three weeks and yes we are talking about the standard garden snail.

    Don't worry Woozy it's just a cold.

Here are some studies to date documenting how COVID-19 affects brain health:

    * Large epidemiological analyses showed that people who had COVID-19 were at an increased risk of cognitive deficits, such as memory problems.

    * Imaging studies done in people before and after their COVID-19 infections show shrinkage of brain volume and altered brain structure after infection.

    * A study of people with mild to moderate COVID-19 showed significant prolonged inflammation of the brain and changes that are commensurate with seven years of brain aging.

    * Severe COVID-19 that requires hospitalization or intensive care may result in cognitive deficits and other brain damage that are equivalent to 20 years of aging.

    * A large preliminary analysis pooling together data from 11 studies encompassing almost one million people with COVID-19 and more than 6 million uninfected individuals showed that COVID-19 increased the risk of development of new-onset dementia in people older than 60 years of age.

    * Autopsies have revealed devastating damage in the brains of people who died with COVID-19.
