Overcoming a Corroding, Long COVID Infected Brain

Chance of getting Long COVID?

10% - 20% with every infection.

legens lepers and leprechauns 16 20140424 1325164943

Vaccinated or not, COVID re-infections can occur every 6 months in a non lock down situation.

With lock downs being a thing of the past  the chances of you getting Long COVID in your life time is close to 100%. This would also suggest that you will experience cognitive decline sooner rather than later.

The great dumbing down is here.

As if we needed humans to be any more stupid! Ricardovitz and Denis here are good examples of where we are headed as a collective.

The intelligent human will no longer be able to rely on their brain. One will have to let go of the typical idea of cognitive consciousness. A holistic sense of being (think shiny golden Buddha) may be a better option for interacting with the world rather than relying on a corroding, Long COVID infected, brain.

@Dr Knowitall Dr Knowitall should do some catching up before spreading mis-information and then putting his head in the sand.

Here is another important paper on the subject:

SARS-CoV-2 uses CD4 to infect T helper lymphocytes

"Here, we show that SARS-CoV-2 infects human CD4+ T helper cells, but not CD8+ T cells, and is present in blood and bronchoalveolar lavage T helper cells of severe COVID-19 patients. We demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein (S) directly binds to the CD4 molecule, which in turn mediates the entry of SARS- CoV-2 in T helper cells. This leads to impaired CD4 T cell function and may cause cell death."

@Dr Robert Christ, you are switched on Dr Robert. In my Ivory Tower we have also just received word of this paper, and I will be assessing it's relevance and accuracy shortly. But I wouldn't be jumping too far ahead; was already known COVID infects many cell types. The finding that it also infects CD4 T cells doesn't necessarily mean we are any closer or further to the COVID apocalypse that some crave.

That's Yakult isn't it? Can't fool me Dr Bob. The left over remains of Japan's biological warfare programme in WW2. Not only were the Japs making bugs like anthrax to kill us, they were also making 'superfoods' to keep their fanatical soldiers fighting.

And as such I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. In fact I'd sooner eat my own shit then take their poison rubbish!

Time to accept the facts. COVID-19 is an auto-immune disease along similar lines to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome)

    Happy New Year everybody.

@Dr Robert AIDS is not an auto-immune disease. It is a viral infection that kills the CD4 T cells. So wrong there Doc.
As for the cited paper it does show some changes in T cells post COVID, particularly in old folks. But overall they ain't huge (unlike in AIDS in which the virus untreated can eliminate 99% of your CD4 T cells), and it would be good to follow up these people a bit longer than 2.5 months to see the changes. But they are there, and could have some downstream effects on the immune system. But it is not AIDS like, and exaggerating it is effect is not helping anyone.

    Question for Dr Knowitall
When a person is infected with HIV how long does it take for full blown AIDS to develop?

@Dr Robert Dr Robert, let me blow your mind with my extensive knowledge. I am, after all, Dr Knowitall.
The answer to your question is that it varies, but for most people after initial infection with the virus there is a significant drop in circulating CD4 T cells (20-50%) within the first few months. It recovers slightly after that, but it will continue on a downward trend to zero over years/months if left untreated. Nothing like that has been seen with COVID, which is not to say that COVID infection can have some debilitating immune effects. Just not at the same level as HIV infection.

@Dr Robert Hi Bob. I am on a roll today...

Yes, this is quite interesting news and it is good to see that the anti-viral treatment of COVID infection is getting some attention and hopefully more study. Of course the re-purposing of these drugs used in HIV infection does not mean that COVID is the same as HIV. It is just that the targeting of the viral replication mechanisms by these drugs seems to work in a similar manner with both viruses.
I am sure that you will join me in hoping that further breakthroughs in COVID treatment will continue. Breakthroughs which will surely assuage the fears and doubts of the hoi polloi.

"Long Covid" = immunodeficiency aka AIDS.

Proponents of herd immunity are doing everything they can to deflect from this catastrophic situation. The herd immunity strategy is bringing forward a plethora of mutated strains which current vaccines don't target. We have entered an international whack-a-mole death spiral competition.

Add the controlled opposition anti-vax lobby assisting the spread and we have a functional depopulation system.

@Dr Knowitall Well why is infecting our CD4 cells!?
  • This commment is unpublished.
@Woozy in Wollongong It may infect CD4 cells in an experiment when you isolate them and smoother then in virus in an in vitro experiment, but no evidence has been provided that it infects CD4 cells in the body.
    I hope that helps.
